$12000 Brian Rinaldo Fours at SJPBC

Email received …

Good morning all,

Please find attached flyer and information for the annual $12000 Brian Rinaldo Fours to be held at St Johns Park Bowling club on the weekend of the 20th & 21st of June.

This event is open to all players graded 2, 3 or 4 in 2015. However, due to the inclement weather over the Easter weekend we were forced to cancel our Dave Leggatt Fours open to Grades 5, 6 & 7. With this in mind we have now opened up the Brian Rinaldo to grades 5, 6 & 7 as well.

Could you please display this information in the appropriate area of your club and also pass on to any players you think may be interested.

Regards,

Brett Murphy

Camden v Kingswood

DSC_0029

Camden juniors played Kingswood Bowling Club Friday 10th April at Kingswood and came within a whisker of winning the day. The Kingswood skip with the last bowl of the day managed to get the shot and they won by one. I was very proud of the effort of our new bowlers and the manner of the more experienced bowlers who assisted them. Skips Sam Dukes, Travis Woodcock and Tyler Murphy led their teams well. Result on the day Kingswood 5 rinks, Camden 4 rinks.
A great day was had by all the kids with Claire Dukes winning the Medal for player of the day & thanks to the Kingswood Club for the invitation.

Well done to all players.

Vikings 3 Bowls Open Pairs Tournament 29-31 May 2015

Email Received …

Hello Fellow Bowler.

The Tuggeranong Vikings Lawn Bowls Club invites you to play in our inaugural 3 Bowl Open Pairs Tournament in May 2015. The event will run from Friday 29th May until Sunday 31st May. The attached flyer gives the main details.

Friday 29th will see 3 rounds of 15 ends starting at 9.15am. A further round on Saturday morning will be followed by teams then being sorted into 1 of 3 pools depending on their results from the first 4 rounds. They will then play 2 rounds of 15 ends on Saturday afternoon and a final round on Sunday morning. The final lunch will see the majority of prizes awarded. The top 2 teams from each pool will then play a final round of 18 ends after lunch to determine the winner of each pool.

Lunch will be provided each day, and there are some great accommodation options in the immediate area, if you get in early.

Bowls Australia has registered this event and points will be awarded to the overall winner towards their Bowls Australia ranking. This is likely to be the last event where points can be won before the Australian Open at the Gold Coast Australia in June.

There is a lot of interest in this event already. Prize money of $13,500, with $4,000 for the 1st place team, is on offer.

We hope you will come and be a part of this event. Please get your entry in early. Phone our bowls office on 02 62934305 to check details and lodge a team. But remember, payment must be made before the event to secure your place. Preference will be given to those teams who pay first.

WEBSITE UPDATE

Greetings fellow bowlers,

If you are reading this, it means that you’ve found your way to the updated CMBC website, and indeed, the “blog”. Since we currently don’t have a newsletter as such, this is now the place where you’ll find the occasional news item. However, a blog gives you the opportunity to comment and contribute to the online conversation. If you have some newsworthy item that you’d like to see published here, please email it to me at cmbc@camdenbowlingclub.com.au.

Although the update isn’t quite finished (contact form, photo galleries, pennants page) I’d really appreciate feedback on what you like, or don’t like about the revised site. All brickbats and bouquets are welcome.

Thanks,

Ivor
